Supportive taping and strapping is now commonplace and widely used by a huge range of people who are benefitting from it for a variety of reasons. You don’t have to be an athlete to realise the benefits of taping and strapping as it’s support can be used by anyone, anytime.
Types of taping
Rigid taping: used for acute injuries, such as strains and sprains, to avoid certain movements and aid the recovery process (usually used very soon after the injury has happened).
K-Taping: used after massage treatment as part of an ongoing recovery plan (several weeks after injury and part of the muscle/tendon/ligament recovery process). Also, this type of taping can be applied before an event to provide additional support to the specified area. Once applied it can last up to 3 days.
This flexible adhesive tape that can be used to assist in the realigning of fascia. Once applied, the tape provides relief from pain/discomfort in muscles and joints and is most commonly used for injuries such as; plantar fasciitis, knee pain, calf pain, shin splints, shoulder/ neck pain, back pain and many more.
